The Marine Travelift has a rated capacity of 82 tons, which will accommodate most fiberglass boats up to 80 feet. Maximum beam is 22’. Our new 75BFMII Marine Travelift is also equipped with a telescoping boom crane for safe and convenient removal/replacement of masts, motors and other heavy equipment which may need to be placed on your vessel. Haul out and crane time rates are variable by vessel size or duration of service being provided.
We provide Long Term Winter Storage from October 1 through February 28. There is a limited Spring/Summer season storage option depending on availability and Management approval. Ask for details in the Boatworks office or see our Winter Storage page. All other storage is at our daily lay-time rates.
Swantown Boatworks is certainly a “do it yourself” boatyard. There are also on-site marine service providers and concessionaires to assist you with any of your repair or maintenance needs. All work being done by customers and contractors must be within the comprehensive boatyard “Best Management Practices” in order to ensure complete compliance with Department of Ecology and L&I regulations. Find information regarding service providers and concessionaires on our Services page.
This varies based on the season and weather. From the months of April through September, plan on scheduling potentially up to 1-2 weeks in advance. During the winter, plan on scheduling 1-2 days ahead of time. We encourage customers to have their haul out schedule coordinated with any work that will be done by a contractor to ensure the work can be completed in a timely manner.
Yes, we have strict Best Management Practices in place to ensure we meet the environmental standards designated by the Washington Department of Ecology. The Best Management Practices are listed in detail on our Best Management Practices document provided in the Resources section below. A signed copy of the BMP’s will be provided to you prior to any work being done on your vessel. Strict compliance with Boatworks environmental regulations is vital in order for the Boatworks to allow customers to work on their own boats.
Swantown Boatworks has state of the art wash down and water treatment facilities where we pressure wash all the boats that require a wash. We pride ourselves in professional power washing from the gunnels to the keel. If you have special needs with your wash just let us know and we will do our best to accommodate. No hand washing of any kind is allowed once the boat is blocked in its spot.
Our on-site service provider has limited indoor space. The Boatworks rents a mobile covered space in the yard. Due to extremely high demand, prior arrangements must be made, possibly several months or more in advance. If you are interested in these spaces, please contact Swantown Boatworks directly. Detailed information can be found on our Service page.
